Castle Tour Altpernstein in English

Visit the legendary and well-preserved Altpernstein Castle, lovingly maintained by the ISK-Austria, which lies high above the Upper Austrian Kremstal. Enjoy a one-hour guided tour, during which we will explore the famous dungeon, the castle chapel dedicated to ‘Mary of Good Counsel’, the original roof structure and the castle terrace with its breathtaking view.

You will also learn many useful and fascinating facts about the castle, its history from the Middle Ages to the present day, its architecture and the surrounding flora and fauna, all garnished with a series of legends that entwine around the legendary castle.

This tour is also suitable for children. For example, we meet Balthasar, the knight of the castle (or rather his armour), learn a lot about the magician „Jackl“, walk up the mystical Sleeping Beauty staircase and are watched by the curious and tame castle goats. Our experienced, local guides are happy to answer questions from ‘young and old’.
